GLEE Shocker: Cast To Be Replaced in 2012

Say it ain’t so!  But it is.  GLEE creator Ryan Murphy says that he plans to replace the cast of his hit Fox musical comedy in 2012.  “Every year we’re going to populate a new group,” Murphy says, according to Australian news website News.com.au. “There’s nothing more depressing than a high schooler with a bald spot.”

Murphy adds:  “I think you have to be true to the fact that here is a group of people who come and go in these teachers’ lives — they graduate and they’re gone,” Murphy says. “When some of them finish their run at high school it will be very teary episodes. For me it will be particularly tough but a new crop (of actors) will come in.”

Fox has no comment on Murphy’s comments, so only time will tell.  It’s not unprecedented for a network to step in and override a show creator, but we’ll see.
